Garden Shed Security – Safeguard Your Garden

If you want to look after your lawnmower and safeguard your shrubs then come along to the garden safety event at Homebase over the Easter weekend.

Barking and Dagenham Council's Community Safety Team are joining forces with the Police and Homebase to demonstrate how residents can protect their sheds and gardens.

People are welcome to come along and learn how they can secure their shed with a demonstration of various security devices such as alarms which will be explained by a Police Crime Prevention Officer.

Discounts on shed alarms will also available with the normal price of £9.99 reduced to £6.99 with a £3 voucher from the safety stand courtesy of Barking and Dagenham Council. Other various security products for the home and garden will be on offer over the event weekend and advice will be on hand from the Police.

Advice on what to plant and where to put certain shrubs such as planting thorny plants under windows and next to fences to ward off potential intruders.

Police cadets will be assisting the Police with mobile phone marking.

Cllr Milton McKenzie, Executive Member for Cleaner, Greener, Safer said It is important that people feel safe especially in their own homes and by installing security measure residents can have peace of mind.

This event is aimed at educating people and advising them about good safety habits such as locking sheds and fitting alarms.We hope everyone will enjoy the event and learn from it.
